The Paul Dresher Ensemble has a long and distinguished history of collaborating with contemporary dance companies and choreographers around the world. They include The Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, Brenda Way/ODC San Francisco, Nancy Karp & Dancers, The Wendy Rogers Dance Company, and Allyson Green Dance.

Dresher's score for The Gates, a collaboration with Margaret Jenkins, premiered at Jacob's Pillow in 1993, opened the Serious Fun Festival at Lincoln Center in 1994, and toured Europe the following summer (1995). In 1996 the Ensemble premiered the David Lang/Alvin Curran score for Margaret Jenkins’s Fault, and also collaborated with ODC San Francisco to create Outawak, a dance/opera/theater work for young audiences. In 2001 Dresher collaborated with choreographer Allyson Green to compose In The Name, which was commissioned by Symphony Space and premiered on its Face the Music and Dance Series.

More recently, Mr. Dresher and members of the Electro-Acoustic Band collaborated with Margaret Jenkins on the 40-minute dance Running with the Land, which premiered at the opening of the new De Young Museum last October. This month, Mr. Dresher’s collaboration with Japanese choreographer Hiroshi Koike entitled Heart of Gold premiered at the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media in Yamaguchi, Japan and later performed in Tokyo.
